Tri-County Mustang Club

"Where fun is not an option!"

Club Member of the Quarter

Every 3 months, we will be featuring an individual in the Club that will have the honor of being our Member of the Quarter. Just think, He or She will have national and worldwide exposure! How's that for being nervous about getting picked? We (The Officer's) will nominate 4 individuals and narrow it down to one lucky person. The question is.......................... will it be you?

The Officers of the Tri County Mustang Club are pleased to announce Gregg Cliburn as our Second recipient of Club Member of the Quarter.

Congratulations Gregg for being our next Club Member of the Quarter! To any of you that doesn't know Gregg, he is perhaps one of the most genuine people that anyone could possibly meet.  And, I know this first hand.......

It all started on a cool Febuary Saturday evening at the monthly Cruise In held at Flips. I was cruising the local scene, when my eyes saw two Mustangs I haven't seen before. So, I proceeded to walk in the direction of two of the most awesome Mustangs on the grounds that evening. I introduced myself, to Tyson Langford and Gregg Cliburn not knowing if they were already members of the other Mustang Club in town, luckly they weren't! We proceeded to talk, while in the meantime I was starry eyed at their cars. Somehow we got on the subject of a 2010 Mustang spotted in Montgomery (rare at the time) and told them I had put it up on this website. They turned around and told me they had spotted one also and took a couple pictures of it while parked at Chick Fil-A. To make a long story short, the picture they took was the one on this website! I told them about the club and mentioned we had an upcoming meeting and invited them to come. They did and to the pleasure of everyone joined our family! So sit back and let me introduce our next Club Member of the Quarter........

Gregg has been a diehard Ford fan for as long as he can remember. Of course, he has his father to blame for that. He started Gregg at a very early age..standing him between the bucket seats of his Dad's '67 Cyclone GT powered with a 289 and a 4-speed. His Dad taught him to watch his clutch foot and Gregg would shift
gears...this while he was only 4 years old! "I grew up with my father in some way hot rodding his cars..he was probably the only person around with a '73 2-door Ford LTD with glass packs and mag wheels."
Gregg got his first car when he was 15 years old, a '71 Torino GT with a 351 Cleveland. Pretty hot car to drive to high school. He got his first Mustang in 1983. It was a bright red GT, with t-tops, 5.0, 5-speed and a red interior. "I loved that car, and the Mustang passion started."  Throughout the years, he has had an '84 GT
Convertible, a '92 GT and currently '04 GT 40th Anniversary Edition, loaded with the following additions:
Steeda lowering springs
Flowmaster 40 series mufflers
TSW Indy 500 stagged wheels, 18x8 front, 18x9.5 in the back
LED third tail light
New headlights
BBK Cold air intake
Billet shock tower covers
Billet fuse box cover
SIMCO gauge cluster
Pioneer Touch Screen DVD/CD/MP3 player
Short antenna
and lots and lots of scrubbin!
"I finally learned that everytime I go away from a Mustang..I spend my life wishing I had another one. I finally gave in last year when I found my '04. The moment I drove it, I was grinning like a kid again. I've learned my lesson, and if I'm blessed, I won't be without a Mustang again."

"Then, that fateful night at Flips...here comes this short, energetic guy named Chris...talked my ear off about the car and Tri-County Mustang Club. I hit it off with him in an instant and  that I wanted to be in the club. The next meeting, we were there. And the rest is history. I've had a great time with the Club, have made wonderful new friends, and look forward to many years of fun."  Gregg is software developer by trade. He has been involved in the pharmacy computer business since 1984. He has lived here in Montgomery for 15 years. He has a wonderful daughter, Amanda, that I must truly say for a 16 year old probably knows more about Mustangs than alot of so called Mustang fanatics I know! She is currently working on saving for her new Pony in the Mustang stable! When I asked Gregg about his hobbies he replied, "My Mustang IS my hobby..although I love working on the house too!"

Gregg is currently the Club's Activity Director, Gregg has been doing a tremendous job in coming up with ideas for some upcoming events and everyone appreciates all the hard work he does for the Club. Amanda, Gregg's daughter, is the Official Club Photographer.

Gregg, Congratulations again on you being our current Club Member of the Quarter, you deserve it, and come to think it all started on "that fateful night at Flips!"  Isn't it funny, how friendship's start?
